Photo Challenge: Serenity Most Profound on a Summer’s Day

Forthwith a change came over the waters, and the serenity became less brilliant but more profound.

The Au Sable River in northern Michigan always brings to mind memories of boyhood vacations, now viewed from the serenity of distance, but on a summer’s day still calling up emotions without words.

So glad you enjoyed the photos, Alexandra. More blue for you! 😉 That’s the Au Sable River in the pics, one of my favorite places and, fortunately, it’s not far away. Michigan, where I live, has a lot of French place names (like Detroit!) because the early European explorers here were from France.

fascinating!! I enjoy very much learning about names and the history of places, thank you, Tom 🙂 you are so lucky to live so close to such incredible treasures of nature… but most importantly, you have the eyes and the heart to see and capture this beauty! 🙂 and, yes, more blue for me 🙂 have a wonderful weekend ahead!
