Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: An Avian Family Stroll in the Park

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge:  Three

Michigan’s parks provide a family-friendly space where a parent can show her children the beauties of nature on a sunny, summer afternoon.

I love the red on their heads! I didn’t see it until I looked at each one — and it’s really worth it to take the time to look at each picture alone because it’s so gorgeous — that cute little part of the red on the head is so adorable.
Interestingly, I was out visiting a friend on the beach and a mother duck and her goslings swam by and she had a red part on her head too! it was so striking!

I appreciate your eye for detail. Another thing about color I noticed is that nearly everything at this park was either green or blue (lakes, sky). The cranes with their reddish tinge and red heads made a nice contrast. Really, though, it was just cute to see the mother taking her kids for a walk–and watching them closely. 🙂

I absolutely agree with you. Kensington Park is about an hour’s drive from where I live and is my favorite local park. There are a series of lakes created by dams on the Huron River and on one of them these cranes (and others) nest. There’s also a large wooded area where most of my pics of the last few weeks were taken. Glad you enjoy! 🙂

This weekend is a holiday here–Independence Day on July 4. I’ll be going a little further afield and you can visit other parts of Michigan via pics. Can’t promise any more birds, but if I’m really lucky I’ll see deer or a bear. 🙂
