      You are right about the workout. The sign is a little misleading. There may be 300 steps going down, but I’m sure there are 600 coming back up. I usually visit these springs when I’m in the area, and each time I gain a greater appreciation for the physical fitness of lumberjacks back in the day when the Au Sable was a conduit for logs going to the mills on Lake Huron.
