These little guys are a month or so late arriving; they’re tiny enough to float on lily pads. But, they still represent the change of generations. It’s just that their mother has apparently mistaken July for May.

Late arrivals–Newburgh Lake, Michigan
Cute. Now they have to mature faster, unless they are the non-migratory kind. Then being seasonally late should not matter so much.

I have some ducklings coming any day now here at Villa Migelita. I can’t wait.

Being that close to the equator, I’m guessing you have no seasons. Rainy and dry maybe?

I wonder what adventures held them up? Beautiful creatures and wonderful photos!

Being this late to arrive is quite unusual. No feathers, just fuzz. But, with our summers lasting longer, they should be OK.

We have seen many here as well. They seem to grow rather fast.

No wonder they grow fast. The whole time I observed these, they were constantly foraging. 🙂

Could this be a second brood of the the season? Do ducks do that?
