I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart’s core.

I thought the pic and the poem went well together. On a July evening, when twilights are languorous , this definitely is a serene spot. And better yet, just a short drive for me. 🙂

Indeed. Especially in the summer, with the long twilights and the warm, humid temps.

Water lapping reminds me of sitting on my grandparents’ dock many moons ago. In Michigan:). It’s the most calming sound, isn’t it?

Indeed. I remember a couple times staying at a motel just off Lake Huron and leaving the windows open so I could fall asleep listening to the waves lapping on the sand.
