I am glad to know that. What a nice compliment! I hope to be revisiting this river soon, perhaps over Memorial Day. It has some special memories for me, as my grandparents took me and sibs there for summer vacations.

Lovely shots. The river looks more like a big lake. Is it not flowing?

Thanks. Actually, there is a hydroelectric dam about 3 miles downriver from this spot, which creates this broad pond. Downriver from the dam, the river reverts to a width of about 100 yards. At this cove, the river flows beneath bluffs 200 feet high, so there are some great panorama views from up top. In the late 19th and early 20th century, the forest was heavily cut, and the logs rolled down the bluffs to the river and then floated to the lumber mills downstream. This was Michigan’s first industry, before the auto industry made Detroit into Motown.
