In the light, the earth remains our first and our last love. Our brothers and sisters are breathing under the same sky as we; justice is a living thing. Now is born that strange joy which helps one live and die, and which we shall never again postpone to a later time.

Thanks. A couple summers ago, I was hiking at my favorite local park and just as I came around a corner the sunlight was shimmering through the trees at the top of a hill. Voila!

The park is the only mildly hilly area in otherwise flat as a pool table southern Michigan, so the hiking trails are a pleasant diversion. As a Floridian I’m sure you can relate! 🙂

Yes, Florida is quite flat. I’m originally from Rocky Mountain country though so I do miss the mountains🏔

Indeed, quite a transition for you, geography-wise. I used to vacation regularly in Colorado and north of the border in Alberta, but not recently. Perhaps….

I was just out to the scene of the bottom photo. The best thing is it’s in the midst of suburban Detroit, not far from me. Of course, yesterday there were only a few hints of green. But, soon more to come!

I’m sure by the time summer starts there will be a lot more green!

Glad you enjoyed. That photo is from a park only about half an hour drive from Detroit suburbs. Someone had the foresight to set it aside in the 1920s, I think. Now, it’s one of my favorite spots.
