The concrete ribbons of the American interstate highway system are decorated with roadside rest stops to break the monotony of long drives. Usually, they are mundane, but occasionally the engineers find a jewel. One June morning, I stopped at this little park along Interstate 75 in northern Michigan. The gossamer strands of light filtering through the trees gave the place an ethereal quality–just the respite needed before getting back on the road.
