This park on rolling hills overlooking exurban Detroit, and an easy drive from my home, offers a familiar venue for casual conversations with Nature. But, the light filtering through the leaves above to dapple the forest floor allows–if a favorable mood appears–for seeing the woods anew on any given sultry, summer afternoon.
This past weekend, a two track road through the forest led me to a secluded lake in Michigan’s Pigeon River state forest.
